A member of the Union, who is also the Chairman , Committee on Research and Translation, and an 
Associate Professor in the Department of
Islamic Law, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, Dr.
Abdulrasaq Abdulmajeed Alaro, has emerged the overall
winner at the just concluded paper presentations of the
Forum of African Muslim Scholars hosted by the Committee
for Da’wah in Africa.
Dr. Alaro, who competed with 28 other scholars from 27
African countries, emerged the winner at the 27th edition of
the programme held in Saudi Arabia on June 7, 2018. The
general theme for this year’s paper presentation was
“Institutionalising Da’wah and Social Works in Africa”.
This year’s gathering of the Forum of African Muslim
Scholars was hosted in three Saudi Arabian cities of
Makkah, Madinah and Riyadh.
Scholarly Papers were invited from academics from across
Africa and a total of 28 academic papers were submitted
from 27 African countries, and the papers submitted were
subjected to review and assessment by a team of
accredited academics from Saudi and others.
