In response to the request letter by the Palestinian Ambassador at Dakkar

In response to the request letter by the Palestinian Ambassador at Dakkar, Dr Safwat Barighith, demanding the involvement of the Union of African Muslim Scholars in the rejection of Israel’s membership as an observer in the African Union, the Union’s Board of Trustees released a press statement in which it expressed its support for the Palestinian struggle towards reclaiming the right of her citizens and its opposition to giving Israel any membership position with special reference to its previous communication about the matter with the African Union’s Commission Chairman.
