The Union of African Muslim Scholars demands the African Union to reject Israel as an observing member through a letter to His Excellency, the African Union Commission’s Chairman, Minister Musa Fiqi

As a means of condemning the abnormal display of racism, oppression, repression and desecration of Islamic symbols in the Quds Mosque by the Israel nation and in solidarity with the Palestinian people to reclaim their freedom and dignity, the Board of Trustees of the Union of African Muslim Scholars forwarded a letter at the instance of its President, Prof Saheed Burhan Abdullah, last week to the Chairman of the African Union’s Commission, Minister Fiqi Musa Muhammad, demanding him to reject Israel’s request for being an observing member in the African Union. The Israel’s request was announced 22nd July 2021 amidst strong opposition from African nations and various organisations and bodies.
