In honor of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Louh, the Senegalese Minister of Higher Education, representing the Senegalese President, lays the foundation stone of the Modern African University.
On Wednesday, Rajab 15, 1443 corresponding to February 16, 2022, and in a glorious ceremony attended by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, the Director of Urban Development for the New Capital, the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine, members and staff of the African College of Islamic Studies, and a group of religious and diplomatic dignitaries, preachers and educators, The foundation stone of the Modern African University was laid in the new capital, Jamniago, near Dakar.
Mr. Uthman Sisi, Director of the General Manager’s Office for Urban Development of the New Capital, spoke, welcoming the attendees and mentioning the importance of the university project.
Then, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Sheikh Omar Ann, praised this great educational project, saying: “His Eminence Dr. Muhammad Louh, I inform you that His Excellency the President of the Republic did not only ask me to represent him on this occasion that you supervised in laying the foundation stone for the university project but rather insisted on conveying to you in his name his congratulations and readiness to stand by you to implement this important educational project.”
His Excellency then touched on the achievements made in the field of higher education in Senegal since 2012 by President Macky Sall.
He added: “Any university and educational project in the country will be welcomed and praised by His Excellency the President of the Republic and the Ministry of Higher Education.
He also welcomed the project supervisor Dr.Muhammad Ahmed Louh, extended his appreciation to Allah for His blessings, and praised the President of the Republic for his noble stance on this project since it was an idea until it got to this stage.
Thereafter, Dr. Louh mentioned the educational and training colleges and departments that will be established
within this project, and then concluded his conversation by saying:
“I know that the project is big and the available resources are small, but the hope in Allah is greater than this project, and our hope in our partners at home and abroad will not be disappointed by the grace of the Almighty Allah.
