General Secretary, Executive Secretary and other Members of the Union of African Muslim Scholars Attended the 3rd Episode of the Voice of Daud Event in Mali
On Sunday 24th September, 2023, an event aimed at showcasing the outstanding and sweet voices in the recitation of the Qur’an was organized by some Muslim youths under the auspices of the coordinating office for the programme. The event, which was in honour of late Samba Jakiti, took place at the Bamako Stadium. The programme, which is the 3rd episode of its type, host prominent reciters from West Africa, including Shaykh Ahmad Sulayman from Nigeria, Umar Tauri from Guinea, the 2023 winner of the international Qur’an competition held in Malaysia, and Zaynab from Senegal, the 2023 runner-up winner in Malaysia.
The event aims to propagate Islam and promote the culture of memorizing the Qur’an. Some of the figures who graced the occasion include representatives of Muslim societies and international organisations. Others are Dr. Mahmud Diko,
Shaykh Ibrahim Kuntawi who is the Director General of Al-Faaruq Foundation,
representative of the Minister of Religion and Culture in Mali,
Secretary General of the Union of African Muslim Scholars, Dr. Saheed Muhammad Babasila,
Executive Director of the Union, Dr. Umar Bamba as well as other members of the Union.
