The closing ceremony of the King Abdulaziz 45th International Competition for the memorization of the Holy Quran

 

Yesterday evening, Safar 26, 1447 AH, corresponding to August 20, 2025 AD, the closing ceremony of the King Abdulaziz International Competition of Glorious Quran held its forty -fifth session, which was organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in the Grand Mosque from 15-26 Safar 1447 AH, which falls 09-20 August 2025 AD, and under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him.
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Al -Mukarramah Region, attended the event and a number of eminent figures including the ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries, officials of government agencies and security leaders, a group of scholars, preachers and Imams of mosques.
The ceremony witnessed the honoring of the winners of the five categories of the competition, where the value of the prizes reached (4,000,000) four million riyals, in addition to rewards for all the participants amounted to (1,000,000) one million riyals, at the end of competitions in which (179) contestants representing (128) countries participated in the largest international participation since the start of the competition, reflecting the Kingdom’s leading role in serving the Holy Quran.
Some of the participants from the Sub-Saharan African won a number of the competition categories, including participants from Nigeria, Mali, Ethopia, Chad, Senegal and Somalia.
We congratulate these heroes for this great achievement and distinguished action, and we pray to God Almighty to make success and victory their ally in the two homes and to benefit the nation of the Holy Qur’an.
