Graduation ceremony for the eleventh and twelfth classes at the University of the Sahel in Bamako, Mali
Today, Saturday, Shaaban 11, 1447 AH, corresponding to January 31, 2026 AD, the Secretary-General of the Union of African Scholars and the Director-General of the Sahel University in Bamako, Dr. Said Mohamed Baba Sylla, supervised the graduation ceremony of the eleventh and twelfth batches at the Sahel University in Bamako, Mali
Named after Mr. Solomana Kanti (may God have mercy on him)* a prominent African personality, the inventor of the *Ankou* alphabet and the author of many books on the history of the West African region of Africa, who left his impact on the scientific and cultural life in West Africa and the African continent and beyond, under the patronage of Sheikh *Mahmoud Bamba*, an expert in writing the *Ankou* language in Mali. In the world, he participated and represented speakers of the *Inko* language in many international, regional and local forums.
The representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Drissa Kantau, and the Executive Director of the Al-Farouq Organization, Dr. Yahya Ghauri, representing the Assistant Secretary-General for Financial Affairs, Sheikh Ibrahim Kantau, participated in this ceremony. The representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross office in Mali and the representative of the Association of Higher Educational Institutions also participated. Specialists in Mali, Mamadou Lamine Jawara, and many members of the Union of African Scholars in the country of headquarters, representatives of diplomatic missions, international and local organizations, bodies and associations in Bamako, directors of universities and higher institutes, heads of departments in colleges in Mali, the Al-Azhar mission in Mali, and the teaching and administrative staff at the University of Mali. The coast in Bamako and elsewhere, and many governmental and private media outlets in Mali, and other destinations, doctors and scientific staff in many local universities, academic experts, public school principals, religious and tribal figures in Mali, and a large number of students and the families of male and female graduates.
It is worth noting that the number of male and female graduates from the eleventh batch reached (140) male and female students, and from the twelfth batch (121) male and female students holding a bachelor’s degree according to the LMD system from the College of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language, the College of Computers, and the College of Legal and Economic Sciences, out of a total of 943 male and female students. University students today, bringing the number of graduates at the university since its establishment to 1,211 male and female graduates.*
In addition to academic programs in colleges; The university holds advanced training courses in Arabic, French, English, Bambari, and Nko, as well as computer courses such as Microsoft, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Photoshop, and others.
The Director General of the University indicated that it is developing and expanding steadily, after the opening of the College of Legal and Economic Sciences and the College of Holy Qur’anic Sciences and Educational Sciences in Kati, with the continuation of the master’s program in several specializations.
The ceremony concluded with honoring the distinguished students according to the colleges and praying for the attendees, the students and the state, followed by Imam Sheikh Professor Musa Kamara, head of the education department at the Al-Farouq Organization.
