The Resolution of Union of African Scholars on condemnation of the terrorist attack in Ouagadougou

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent and the Merciful. All praise is due to Allah; the Lord of the Universe. May the blessing and mercy of Allah be on his Messenger, Muhammed the son of Abdullah; his household and all his Companions generally.

The Union of African Scholars follows with dismay, the incessant terrorist attacks that occurred in a number of Sahel nations and West Africa; the latest one is the terrorist attack that occurred on Sunday evening, 21^st of Dhul Qa’dah, 1438, A.H, corresponding to 13^th of August, 2017C.E, which was launched on Aziz Istanbul Restaurant in the city of Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, which claimed the lives of civilians of various nations.

In keepingwith the high principles of Islam, the Union of African Scholars condemns this attack and considers this act as a crime and atrocity regardless of the claim of its perpetrators.

The Union extends its condolence to family of the victims; the government of Burkina Faso and her citizen, on this tribulation, calling for co-operation and collaboration among all segments of the society and nation in standing strongly against the perpetrators of this terrorist acts, so that their evilcan be put to an end and harmony and peace return.

Finally, we beseech Allah with his forgiveness and mercy to bestow our societies with security, peace and stability.

            May the blessings of Allah be on our Apostle, Muhammed, his household and his Companions.
