RESOLUTION OF UNION OF AFRICAN MUSLIM SCHOLARS ON THE TERRORIST ATTACK IN NAIROBI

 

All praise is due to Allah; the Lord of the worlds. May the blessings and mercy of Allah be upon the soul of the Prophet; his household and his entire companions.

To start with, the Union of African Muslim Scholars has followed with dismay and shock the scenes of terrorist attack on a complex comprising of a hotel and offices in the city of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, on Tuesday 9 Jumaada al -Ulaa, 1440 corresponding with 15 January, 2019. The attack claimed the lifes of many  innocent victims. The Union, in the bid for discharging its religious and humane responsibility, therefore resolves as follows :

  1. That the Union of African Muslim Scholars in consonance to the principles of Islamic religion which unequivocally forbid shedding the blood of innocent souls outright condemns this terrorist attack targeted at the innocent civilians.

  2. That the Union tenders its sincere condolence to the immediate family of the victims and the citizens of Kenya; and prays for quick recovery for the injured.

  3. That the Union calls upon all sections of Kenyan community to unite against terrorism in its various forms which is not peculiar to a faith or ethnic group.

  4. That the Union urges the leaders, organizations and governments to redouble their efforts towards resolving the fledging conflicts that are nurturing terrorism of which the citizenry majorly is at the receiving end in the continent.

Finally, we beseech Allah to forgive and to have mercy on us; and to bestow on our community His harmony, peace and stability. May the blessings and mercy of Allah be upon the soul of our Prophet, his household and his entire companions.
