The Secretary-General and the Executive Director of the Union participated in the opening ceremony of the New Doha Village in Fana, Mali.
Today, Thursday, September 09, 2021, the Secretary-General, Dr. Said Muhammad Baba Sila, and the Executive Director, Dr. Umar Bamba, participated in the opening ceremony of 100 free social housing units consisting of two bedrooms, a sitting room, a kitchen, a store, and two toilets; funded by the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) in Qatar; and executed by Al-Farouq Organization in Mali, headed by Sheikh Ibrahim Kontau, Director General of Al-Farouq Organization and Assistant Secretary-General for Financial Affairs of the Union of African Muslim Scholars.
Many personalities participated in the ceremony, including: the Minister in charge of Social Affairs, Social Solidarity and Refugees; a representative of the Ministry of Housing and State Property; the representative of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Worship; and a representative of the Ambassador of Qatar in Mali; and many representatives of Islamic bodies, organizations, and associations present in Mali; some members of the National Council for the Transitional Period; And the local authorities of the city of Fana and its suburbs.
