The convocation ceremony to end the 16th edition of the Bamako award for Memorization of the Noble Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet,1443 AH / 2022 AD, in Mali.

 

On Saturday morning 05-03-2022, the activities of the convocation ceremony to end the 16th edition of the Bamako award for Memorization of the Noble Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet kick-started, from 05 to 13 March 2022 AD, which was organized by the Association of Preachers in Mali under the supervision of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Worship in Mali, Dr. Mahamadou Kony, and under the leadership of the President of the Association, His Excellency Sheikh Muhammad Traore, a member of the Fatwa and Guidance Committee in the Office of the Union of African Muslim Scholars.

The ceremony was concluded with an award presentation to the winners yesterday, Sunday, March 13, 2022 AD, at the Culture Palace in Dalabogo district – Bamako, by 9:30 am.

The ceremony was graced by dignitaries from local Islamic bodies and associations, representatives of international organizations in the headquarters of the Union of African Muslim Scholars in Bamako – Mali, imams, preachers, and other personalities, some of them are:

– General Secretary of the Union of African Muslim Scholars, Dr. Said Mohamed Baba Sila.

– Assistant General Secretary for Financial Affairs, Director-General of Al-Farouq Organization, and First Vice-President of the Islamic Supreme Council of Mali, Sheikh Ibrahim Kontaou.

– Representative of the mayor of the fifth municipality in Bamako, the capital.

– Representative of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Worship in Mali.

– Representative of the founding families of Bamako, the capital.

– The imam of the Great Mosque of King Faisal in Bamako.

– Vice-President of the Association and member of the Media and Public Relations Office in the Union Administration Office, Dr. Uthman Saleh Traore, Chairman of the Arbitration Committee, and with him in that committee from the Union members Dr. Ismail Doukuri, Vice-Rector of Toba University, Bamako, Mali.

– Executive Director of the Union of African Scientists, Dr. Umar Bamba.

– Dr. Umar Jakiti, Vice Dean of the Sahel University in Bamako-Mali, and a member of the Membership Committee in the Union Administration Office.

And many members of the Union of African Muslim Scholars in the headquarters country, and other personalities.

The number of participants in the competition for the Bamako award in its 16th edition was 239 people, divided into two batches:

The first batch: memorizers of the entire Quran, the book Al-Jazriyah, exegesis of the Quran, and hadith.

The second batch: children under 15 years of age and women who memorized the entire Quran.

The award was based on questions sent out  to people, to achieve the goal of:

1/ Expanding the scope of knowledge among people.

2/ Mobilizing people to the closing ceremony to encourage the campaign of the Noble Quran.

These questions were distributed to the general public, and the answers were received during the days of the competition, they were sorted and ten successful winners emerged among them, to give them a prize in front of the audience, which adds beauty to the ceremony.
