Resolution N° 31 Dated 26th Rabi’u-l-Awwal, 1445, corresponding to 12th October, 2023

Resolution of the Union of African Muslim Scholars on the Events in Palestine (Operation Al-Aqsa Flood)

All praise is due to Allah, Who took His slave (Muhammad, SAW) for a journey by night from the Sacred Mosque (at Mecca) to the farthest Mosque (at Jerusalem). Blessing and mercy of Allaah be upon Muhammad bin Abdillah, his household, companion and their entire successors till the Day of Judgement.

Arising from the sacred status held by the Muslim Ummah for the Aqsa Mosque, the gallantry operation of the Palestinian Resistance (Al-Aqsa Flood) against the Zionist occupants has recieved an applaud for exercising a lawful right. However, the operation has attracted the usual attack on the people of Gazah by the occupying forces.

The Union of African Muslim Scholars, arising from its visions and missions, releases this statement on the ongoing events, with a view of stressing its support for the Palestinian Resistance in the following points:

1. The Union supports the right of resistance in its various forms against the occupation of Palestine as a whole, and Aqsa Mosque in particular;

2. The Union appeals to the Muslims and lovers of justice across the globe to support with both spiritual and material means the Palestinian resistants in reclaiming their rights and liberating Aqsa Mosque from the schackles of the occupants;

3. The Union calls on Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other similar bodies to play the role of mobilising international support for the Aqsa and Palestine affairs;

4. The Union condemns the position taken by some countries and bodies supporting the continuous oppression and occupation of Palestine, which are responsible for various crises wrecking our contemporary world;

5. The Union stresses on the necessity of redoubling efforts towards more Islamic awareness about the Aqsa issue through media, religious sermons in the mosques, educational curricula and other social media platforms;

6. Finally, the Union urges all Muslims to pray over the injustice and attacks being faced by their brothers and sisters in Palestine from the hand of the occupying authorities and their allies. We pray that Almighty Allah grant them victory.

Peace and mercy be upon our Prophet, Muhammad, his household and entire companions.
